Balkanske zemlje imaju veoma dugu zajedničku tradiciju i kulturu banja. One su, s druge strane, oduvek bile tesno povezane politički i geografski. Polazeći od ove tačke i deleći ideje sa balkanskim kolegama, BalkanSpa Summit se javio kao neophodnost i potreba. Od početka smo verovali da ovaj događaj može da igra veoma važnu ulogu u razvoju spa industrije Balkana, generalno.

Na prethodnih pet Samita, u Bugarskoj, Turskoj, Srbiji, Hrvatskoj i Sloveniji, uradili smo mnogo, možda i više nego što smo očekivali kada smo pre 13 godina počeli da pišemo jednu novu, intrigantnu i jedinstvenu priču o banjama Balkana. Svake godine se broj učesnika povećavao, osnovali smo stručne centre … Malo je primera u kojima entuzijazam ozbiljnih ljudi daje tako ozbiljne i održive rezultate.

Naša misija je da sakupimo sve zajedničke etno komponente balkanskih zemalja (tradiciju, kulturu, gastronomiju, muziku, običaje i dokaze burne istorije), da ih profilišemo i iskoristimo za definisanje, kreiranje i promociju novog proizvoda na turističkom tržištu Evrope – banje Balkana. Uspećemo u tome ako ove komponente upakujemo zajedno sa programima relaksacije, prevencije i rehabilitacije u našim banjama i pokažemo ostatku sveta zašto smo jedinstveni. I zašto smo zajedno.

Moramo zajedno, da bi mogli više! Lekari, stručnjaci u turizmu, ekonomisti, arhitekte, proizvođači opreme i kozmetike, svi smo mi deo iste priče koje se može napisati samo ako je pišemo zajedno. Priče o Balkanu i njegovim vrednostima. Zato je Vaše učešće na BalkanSpa Samitu značajno i vredno, čak neophodno!

The revival of BalkanSpa Summit brings a great opportunity to medical as well as wellness spa owners, operators, and developers. This is especially true for thermal spas. The rich resources of the Balkans comes with great responsibility. The healing traditions and practices, clinical evidence of resort medicine and the widespread awareness of these thermal resources provide a great platform for new developments. The growing health awareness post-COVID19 has made the interest in natural resources really high. BalkanSpa Summit provides the platform for the traditional spas and destinations to discuss how to respond to this growing health interest, and how they will merge the medical and wellness modalities. BSS facilitates the redefinition of spas and spa culture in the Balkan, and beyond.

One of the most important human needs is to communicate with each other. New technologies are slowly changing those habits, and especially the dynamics of communication accelerated during the pandemic. We also know that the pandemic has affected the travel habits of tourists. Considering the changing dynamics of communication and the habits of tourists, it is good that we participate in this type of event, where we can find new solutions face to face again and continue to contribute to the recovery of the tourism sector. "BalkanSpa Summit 2023" is precisely the opportunity for all of us to get to know each other better and socialize with each other by exchanging experiences and knowledge. I especially hope that this summit will contribute to the improvement of our spas, which I think have great potential and true value.

BalkanSpa Summit is live again!
After being established in 2010 BalkanSpa Summit has been organized annually in Bulgaria (2011), Turkey (2012), Serbia (2013), Croatia (2014) and Slovenia (2015) successfully. While the summit was based on common spa tradition and aimed to establish new collaborations in the BalkanSpa sector, it also enabled representatives to introduce their innovative ideas and concepts. As a result, it was seen that similar challenges are emphasized and similar issues are faced to be overcome, and in short, almost the same spa language is spoken. BalkanSpa brand is already ready to be created by the shared strong spa and wellness traditions of Balkans.
Now, after a “short break” we are excited and delighted that BalkanSpa Summit is going to be live again by Serbian Spa Association initiative and (re)organized in October 2023. The Serbian colleagues set the main goal of making the Balkan Spa Summit not only a unique event, but also an event with new content, the “BalkanSpa Summit Award”. Thus, the continuity of the summits will open the way to a common BalkanSpa future and lead to the creation of the BalkanSpa Brand.

The Balkan region not only abounds in natural beauty, but also in proven natural healing factors. It is a place of rich spa traditions, the value of which should be continuously reminded both by the resident population and by the creators of the development policies of the Balkan countries.
Vladan Vešković, Secretary General at Serbian Spa Association, does this excellently in his country, and as a co-creator of the Balkan Spa Summit, he is constantly engaged in international networking of spa industry professionals. Standardization of services, internationalization of health tourism, positioning on the global market, human resources management, environmental protection - these are just some of the challenges that spa destinations face today.
The Balkan Spa Summit is a networking format for spa industry professionals recognized far beyond the Balkan area, and I congratulate Vladan and his team for agreeing to organize the meeting in Serbia in October 2023. .
